About Bare

Bare Waxing and Skin Centre came about after it’s owner, Vivianne Bryant, struggled to find a salon on her return from overseas that offered consistently high waxing and grooming treatments in a welcoming, clean and relaxing environment.  Many months of research, and home based treatments later, Bare opened the doors to it’s first salon in June 2008.

At Bare we believe that waxing shouldn’t be scary, it shouldn’t take forever (say no to 45 or 60 minute brazilian waxes!) and it really shouldn’t be that painful.  OK, we can only do so much on pain front – but by employing and training the best therapists and constantly improving the way we do things, we believe we deliver the least painful wax, in the shortest time – without ever compromising on quality or comfort.

We know that sometimes a monthly wax, or eybrow shape or lash tint, is the only ‘me time’ that many of us have each month so we want to make your time with us enjoyable.  We’re all customers ourselves, and we get how important it is to provide a great experience on every visit – regardless of which therapist you see.  Don’t just take our word for it though – give us a call and come in and see us.

So, what makes us different from other salons?

For a start, waxing is our core business – it’s what we do all day long, and we like to think we’re pretty darn good at it!

We want everyone who walks through our doors to experience a consistently high-quality waxing experience, using the best waxes available, with the most skilled waxing specialists.

Appointments aren’t always necessary and we will always do our best to fit you in – we completely understand that sometimes you just need that hair removed now and can’t wait for an appointment in 10 days time (having said that, it can get very busy – especially for evening and weekend appointments, so if you come in regularly we recommend you make your next booking while at reception).

We maintain extended operating hours each evening so if you’re unable to get to us during the day, feel free to come in after work (or before work even).

Hygiene, hygiene, hygiene – at Bare there is absolutely NO double-dipping of wax spatulas, the treatment rooms are refreshed between each client and gloves are worn for all initimate waxing treatments.  Full stop. Non negotiable.

Consistency – all staff receive the same in-house training to ensure that your experience is to a consistently high standard each time, regardless of when you visit us, and what therapist you see.  If the team discover a better way of doing something, then everyone benefits.

Speed – while we don’t compromise on quality, we recognise that your time is precious so we aim to get the waxing part of the treatments done as quickly as possible.  That comes from practice, high quality waxes and therapist skill & confidence.

Comfort – we believe we use the best waxes on the market to ensure your comfort.  We always use hot wax on the delicate bits and strip wax on the larger, less sensitive body areas. We also use essential oils, calming lotions and hot compress towels depending on the treatment to soothe and relax the skin post-waxing.

Online bookings – don’t want to ask for a Brazilian appointment over the phone?  Or prefer to book appointments online?  No worries, just access our online appointment requestor and we will confirm your selection with you via your preferred communication method.

Free parking – no circling the block looking for parks, or expensive parking tickets.  At Glen Innes, the parking is right outside the door, in Grey Lynn it’s in the carpark beneath the salon.

Customer Loyalty Programme – bonus point programme to reward our regular clients.  Earn points on your treatments and Dermalogica retail products and redeem them against future appointments.  Believe me, these definitely add up!

Our Staff – at Bare, we are passionate about about what we do – after all we have chosen to specialise in it so we want to provide you with the best experience possible.  Our team are all very experienced with an average of 7 years experience per therapist.  Thats a lot of practice!
